Alane Dent is the Founder and CEO of Dent Strategies and is a nationally recognized advocate with over twenty years of experience strategically leading the financial industry’s legislative efforts. She currently advises financial services clients on tax, financial services, and diversity and inclusion issues. Prior to founding Dent Strategies, Alane served as the Senior Vice President for Federal Relations at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), where she led industry advocacy efforts on tax, financial services, trade, and retirement security issues before the legislative and executive branches. Prior to joining ACLI, Alane served as Federal Affairs Director for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). She also served as Legislative Counsel to a former Member of Congress and as a Legislative Analyst for the U.S. Social Security Administration, where she was a Presidential Management Fellow. For the past several years, Alane spearheaded the inclusion of financial services provisions in significant legislation, including the Senior Safe Act and the International Insurance Capital Standards Accountability Act in the Economic, Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Law. She also engaged Congress to redraft life insurance provisions in the 2017 tax reform law, led the life insurance industry’s effort to repeal two 2016 regulations through the Congressional Review Act, and ensured that life insurance companies maintained access to the Social Security Death Master File as part of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013.
