Gareth Elliott is Partner at Sacramento Advocates, having previously worked for over 20 years in public service in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. in both the Legislative and Executive branches. Having served in both the California State Legislature and Executive branches, Gareth is especially skilled in advising clients on California state budget issues. Prior to Sacramento Advocates, Gareth served four years as Legislative Affairs Secretary to Governor Jerry Brown (D-CA) as a top advisor and his chief liaison to the California Legislature. Through this position, Gareth developed well-established relationships with members and staff from both parties in the California Legislature as well as throughout the California Executive branch and state agencies. Prior to serving in Governor Brown’s office, Gareth served as Policy Director for former California State Senator and current U.S. Senator Alex Padilla and served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Director for the former President Pro Tempore of the California Senate Don Perata. Gareth currently also serves as a Member of the University of California Board of Regents.
