Joanne Sonenshine is Founder and CEO of Connective Impact, a partnership strategy and fundraising advisory firm assisting organizations with international social, environmental, and economic development challenges. Joanne’s work includes advising international nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, social enterprises, and government agencies on how to engage with new partners to develop programs, scale implementation in developing countries, advance priorities around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and pilot world-changing innovation. Prior to Connective Impact, Joanne worked for five years on climate policy, sustainability program development and climate resiliency programs in the field, leading efforts among corporations and international NGOs to collaborate with public and private funders like MacArthur Foundation, USAID, State Department, MCC, and Gates Foundation as Director at Conservation International. Prior to this, Joanne served as an environmental lobbyist and also spent three years working on international trade policy with the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration. Joanne is a development economist and author of two books on development.
