Zach Koutsky is a Managing Director at Mercury Public Affairs and the former President of Berteau Consulting, a Chicago-based boutique government relations and political advocacy firm.  Zack applies his two decades of experience in progressive politics and organizing to deliver creative and specialized client solutions for policy and political challenges in the City of Chicago, throughout Illinois, and across the country. Zach has also spent 15 years working at every level of Democratic campaigns. He has experience campaigning at the local, state, and federal levels, including working two stints on Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. Additionally, Zach spent five years of his career directing legislative, coalition, and political engagement on behalf of 34,000 members in Illinois and Indiana at the local, state, and federal levels. With deep ties in city, state, and federal government elated to Chicago and Illinois, Zach provides regulatory and legislative lobbying, strategic insights, and political advocacy and policy analysis to his clients.
