Anne Clawson (she/her) leads the policy practice at Cascade Strategies, a women-owned strategic advisory. Anne has nearly two decades’ policy and advocacy experience in the natural resources and clean energy space.

Anne most recently led policy and regulatory affairs for the National Alliance of Forest Owners, a prominent forest and wood products trade association. There, she steered the association’s policy pivot on climate change and led efforts on carbon markets and ESG issues.

Earlier, Anne worked in the aluminum and critical minerals sector at Alcoa. She led trade policy advocacy and managed global aluminum, CFIUS and sanctions issues for the company. In an earlier role, she secured millions in funding annually from the Department of Energy and Department of Defense as the research and development lead for the Washington office.

Anne began her career at a management consultancy now owned by Oliver Wyman. She holds a BA from the University of Chicago and an MA from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service
