David A. Smith is a veteran of the government and public affairs arena and has expertly managed public affairs campaigns impacting auto insurance, life insurance, financial services, tort reform and environmental legislative initiatives across New Jersey. Prior to joining Princeton Public Affairs Group, David served as Director of Policy and Planning for the New Jersey General Assembly Democratic Office, where he supervised the partisan staff of all Assembly Committees and Task Forces, while acting as a senior staff aide to the insurance and commerce legislative committees. David was also named to Governor Murphy’s Environment & Energy Transition Committee. In 2005, he was appointed by the Governor to be Commissioner on the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Development Commission, and he has served as Vice Chairman of the Commission since 2016. Earlier, David served as a Director with the New Jersey Dental Association and served on several national and state health care and insurance advisory committees.
