Jonathan Wachtel is the Founder and Managing Director of Greater Good Associates, working with clients including government leaders, business executives, NGOs, and entertainment and news organizations on communications and new media. Jonathan previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Director of Communications & Spokesperson for the United States Mission to the United Nations. In this position, Jonathan supported U.S. Ambassadors on communications strategy and supervised the Press & Public Diplomacy section, directing staff in crafting statements and conveying critical and sensitive foreign policy goals to American and foreign news organizations. Earlier in his career, Jonathan spent over 20 years as an international and domestic multimedia journalist. Jonathan began his journalism career by establishing WTN’s Moscow office just before the collapse of the Soviet Union and later worked for ABC News in London, where he coordinated coverage in Europe, the former Soviet Union, Africa and the Middle East. Jonathan is regularly featured as a global affairs analyst with U.S. and international media outlets.
