Nancy Beck is the Director of Regulatory Science at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP and is a PhD toxicologist with over 20 years of applied public health experience, including 16 years of working within the U.S. federal government where she held senior positions at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the White House (including within the National Economic Council and in the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs). Nancy’s work has been at the intersection of science and policy as important regulations undergo their final review before release to the public. While at the EPA, she led the agency’s chemicals program at a critical juncture when final rules were written to establish approaches to chemical regulation following the bipartisan 2016 Lautenberg Amendments. Nancy has a deep understanding of how to navigate the executive branch to inform science-based outcomes, and can dig into the details of a multi hundred-page scientific evaluation to find the strengths and weaknesses and build consensus around the strongest science.
