Paul Ramey serves as Vice President at Drexwood Partners utilizing his expertise in government affairs to drive outcomes for clients. With nearly a decade of government affairs experience, Paul brings his knowledge of leading a U.S. government affairs operation for a publicly-traded company along with his state contractual lobbying expertise to develop Illinois and multi-state specific lobbying plans. Paul’s unique understanding of both the intricacies of state lobbying in Illinois and the variables to be considered when running an effective multi-state government affairs operation will result in a valuable return on investment for any organization.

Adept at handling complex public policy issues, Paul began his early professional days working as a litigation paralegal and as a field organizer on a national campaign. To begin his government affairs career, Paul spent a short time in Washington D.C. working for a child welfare non-profit conducting policy research and organizing advocacy days. Prior to joining Drexwood in 2019, Paul served as Director of Government Relations for a publicly-traded company where he led U.S. federal and state government affairs for multiple business segments executing government affairs strategies to support organizational goals across six brands. He is passionate about government affairs — from traditional lobbying to digging into the details of creating or revamping an in-house government affairs operation (i.e. budget, lobbying compliance, policy strategy, etc.) Paul can assess and implement strategies to drive outcomes.

A native of mid-Missouri, Paul holds a M.A. in Political Science from University of Missouri, Kansas City and a B.A. in Pre-Law/Legal Studies from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife and two sons.
